Ready to tie the not but you feel like hes not?

Ready to be committed?

Are you ready to go beyond the dates and enjoy the rest of your life with him?

Dr. Mike offers some tips-

Commit or not to Commit

How to deal with commitment phobic men?
Don’t play games: Playing games with your man won’t make him fall for you genuinely. Be upfront about your feelings and emotions.

Give space: Don’t you feel trapped in a claustrophobic relationship? So does your man. Every relationship grows well when there is space.

Be independent: Do not cling on to your man. Be an independent girl. Make him feel that you don’t “need” him to survive. But you “want” him to make your life beautiful.

Be a fun partner: Don’t sulk or be depressed. Enjoy every moment of your life. When your man sees what a fun partner you are he will take the big step.

Make him comfortable: Men (for that matter, even women) are extremely apprehensive about marriage. Make him comfortable with the whole idea of a long term commitment.

Don’t pretend: Contrary to the popular belief, men hate pretense. Don’t “act” to impress him. Be confident about the real you and flaunt it. Your man will know your actual personality.

Express yourself: If you want marriage, tell him so. There’s nothing wrong in expressing your wants. At least, you will have an idea about where your relationship is heading.

Return the favour: Just as you want to be pampered, your man too desires to be spoilt silly. In relationship follow “Do unto others, what you want others do unto you.” Return the favours with the same enthusiasm.

Be sure: Before making him agree for the big “M”, be absolutely sure whether that’s what you want.

Don’t dominate: Relationship is about equality. Don’t try to usurp him, at the same time don’t let him walk all over you. Be fair and equal.

Be gentle: Consider your man’s views, opinions and needs too. That will make him more open to you.

follow these tips,

if hes already put a ring on it and still has not gone to the next step its time to open up another line of communication and expression that will not make him feel uncomfortable. No one should know your man better than you. Dont depend on his friends or family… “YOU” make that effort to reach him!

Dont Get Raped This Summer

Dont Get Raped This Summer!!!

if you say “No”, then its rape!-Dr Mike

Dont get Raped This Summer-

If your reading this blog please forward this blog to every young lady and woman you may know. These are helpful tips to young women who are dating that need be aware. Thank you for your participation- this blog may be reposted some time during the summer but please enjoy….

My mom and several family members would always make the statement
“You Cant Rape The Willing”
So i submitt to you weather male or female ( women rape men as well)
that you cannot place your self in unhealthy situations and thing that things will not present itself.
I also want to say that we have to practice being gentalmen… and practices being young ladies and in some cases women. Your conversation and your body language all play apart in what takes place. so lets go further with this…

Building relationships is fun.  One gets to know each other and spends quality time together.  As long as the relationship is based on mutual respect and understanding, there is no element of friction between the individuals involved in the dating relationship. They remain compatible and in harmony with each other. The problem that could arise is when the situation goes out of control, and the partner forces sex on the person, who is not keen on having it. Date-rape is a problem that many are facing and some voice their anger, whereas others just by-pass it.

In a date-rape case, sex is forced.  A woman may not necessarily want sex.  This could happen on the very first day or even after a long courtship. A person says “no” then it means a “no”.  Some argue that they are not sure whether the woman means a “no” or whether she is just feeling shy.  But the tone of the “no” can tell whether the guy should carry on further or not.
It is not necessary that a person has sex on the very first date or subsequent meetings. Courtship is there. Two individuals would like to get to know each other. It takes time. If one of the partner wants sex too soon, it could imply that the relationship is based purely on physical terms rather than both physical and emotional binding. If one partner wants sex and the other does not want it, then the person wanting it should respect the sentiments of the other person.  If he or she forces it then it could be date- rape case.  Normally, it is the woman who gets raped, but sex can be forced upon a man also and he could also be “raped”.

How to avoid Date- Rape?

One should maintain some distance in the initial meetings and during courtship.  One should make it clear that one would like to decide when one wants sex

Too much alcohol should not be consumed. One should not be drunk so that sex can be forced upon. One should be able to fight back. Also one should be aware of what is going so that one can be sure whether it is date rape or sex per se
Going in groups is good. It is better to date along with others so that one can avoid date –rape
Make sure you have a girl companion or someone whom you can trust with you while being dropped back. Many rapes occur then
Be aware of your rights.  For a woman above 18 years of age, forcible penetration is forced sex and can be termed as date rape. If she is unconscious then also sex can be considered to be forced as her consent has not be sought
Carry a self-defense item so that one can protect oneself from aggression
It is quite obvious that date rape can happen to anyone and if one takes adequate precautions then one can avoid it. One should be aware of it. Be prepared to tackle it. Your are always at a risk.

Remeber: If you tell a man no to sexual intercorse and he continues weather dating or married… its rape. Use more wisdom.

Understanding Bipolar Disorder

Signs, Symptoms, and Treatment of Manic Depression

Bipolar Disorder: Signs, Symptoms, and Causes of Manic Depression

We all have our ups and downs, our “off” days and our “on” days, but if you’re suffering from bipolar disorder, these peaks and valleys are more severe. The symptoms of bipolar disorder can hurt your job and school performance, damage your relationships, and disrupt your daily life. And although bipolar disorder is treatable, many people don’t recognize the warning signs and get the help they need. Since bipolar disorder tends to worsen without treatment, it’s important to learn what the symptoms look like. Recognizing the problem is the first step to getting it under control.

What is bipolar disorder?

Bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) causes serious shifts in mood, energy, thinking, and behavior–from the highs of mania on one extreme, to the lows of depression on the other. More than just a fleeting good or bad mood, the cycles of bipolar disorder last for days, weeks, or months. And unlike ordinary mood swings, the mood changes of bipolar disorder are so intense that they interfere with your ability to function.

During a manic episode, a person might impulsively quit a job, charge up huge amounts on credit cards, or feel rested after sleeping two hours. During a depressive episode, the same person might be too tired to get out of bed and full of self-loathing and hopelessness over being unemployed and in debt.

The causes of bipolar disorder aren’t completely understood, but it often runs in families. The first manic or depressive episode of bipolar disorder usually occurs in the teenage years or early adulthood. The symptoms can be subtle and confusing, so many people with bipolar disorder are overlooked or misdiagnosed–resulting in unnecessary suffering. But with proper treatment and support, you can lead a rich and fulfilling life.

Myths and Facts About Bipolar Disorder

Myth: People with bipolar disorder can’t get better or lead a normal life.

Fact: Many people with bipolar disorder have successful careers, happy family lives, and satisfying relationships. Living with bipolar disorder is challenging. But with treatment, healthy coping skills, and a solid support system, you can live fully while managing your symptoms.

Myth: People with bipolar disorder swing back and forth between mania and depression.

Fact: Some people alternate between extreme episodes of mania and depression, but most are depressed more often than they are manic. Mania may also be so mild that it goes unrecognized. People with bipolar disorder can also go for long stretches without symptoms.

MYTH: Bipolar disorder only affects mood.

Fact: Bipolar disorder also affects your energy level, judgment, memory, concentration, appetite, sleep patterns, sex drive, and self-esteem. Additionally, bipolar disorder has been linked to anxiety, substance abuse, and health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, migraines, and high blood pressure.

MYTH: Aside from taking medication, there is nothing you can do to control bipolar disorder.

Fact: While medication is the foundation of bipolar disorder treatment, therapy and self-help strategies also play important roles. You can help control your symptoms by exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, eating right, monitoring your moods, keeping stress to a minimum, and surrounding yourself with supportive people.

Bipolar disorder can look very different in different people. The symptoms vary widely in their pattern, severity, and frequency. Some people are more prone to either mania or depression, while others alternate equally between the two types of episodes. Some have frequent mood disruptions, while others experience only a few over a lifetime.

There are four types of mood episodes in bipolar disorder:mania, hypomania, depression, and mixed episodes. Each type of bipolar disorder mood episode has a unique set of symptoms.

Signs and symptoms of mania

In the manic phase of bipolar disorder, feelings of heightened energy, creativity, and euphoria are common. People experiencing a manic episode often talk a mile a minute, sleep very little, and are hyperactive. They may also feel like they’re all-powerful, invincible, or destined for greatness.

But while mania feels good at first, it has a tendency to spiral out of control. People often behave recklessly during a manic episode: gambling away savings, engaging in inappropriate sexual activity, or making foolish business investments, for example. They may also become angry, irritable, and aggressive–picking fights, lashing out when others don’t go along with their plans, and blaming anyone who criticizes their behavior. Some people even become delusional or start hearing voices.

Hypomania symptoms

Hypomania is a less severe form of mania. People in a hypomanic state feel euphoric, energetic, and productive, but they are able to carry on with their day-to-day lives and they never lose touch with reality. To others, it may seem as if people with hypomania are merely in an unusually good mood. However, hypomania can result in bad decisions that harm relationships, careers, and reputations. In addition, hypomania often escalates to full-blown mania or is followed by a major depressive episode.

Common signs and symptoms of mania include:

  • Feeling unusually “high” and optimistic OR extremely irritable
  • Unrealistic, grandiose beliefs about one’s abilities or powers
  • Sleeping very little, but feeling extremely energetic
  • Talking so rapidly that others can’t keep up
  • Racing thoughts; jumping quickly from one idea to the next
  • Highly distractible, unable to concentrate
  • Impaired judgment and impulsiveness
  • Acting recklessly without thinking about the consequences
  • Delusions and hallucinations (in severe cases)

Signs and symptoms of bipolar depression

In the past, bipolar depression was lumped in with regular depression. But a growing body of research suggests that there are significant differences between the two, especially when it comes to recommended treatments. Most people with bipolar depression are not helped by antidepressants. In fact, there is a risk that antidepressants can make bipolar disorder worse–triggering mania or hypomania, causing rapid cycling between mood states, or interfering with other mood stabilizing drugs.

Despite many similarities, certain symptoms are more common in bipolar depression than in regular depression. For example, bipolar depression is more likely to involve irritability, guilt, unpredictable mood swings, and feelings of restlessness. People with bipolar depression also tend to move and speak slowly, sleep a lot, and gain weight. In addition, they are more likely to develop psychotic depression–a condition in which they’ve lost contact with reality–and to experience major disability in work and social functioning.

Common symptoms of bipolar depression include:

  • Feeling hopeless, sad, or empty.
  • Irritability
  • Inability to experience pleasure
  • Fatigue or loss of energy
  • Physical and mental sluggishness
  • Appetite or weight changes
  • Sleep problems
  • Concentration and memory problems
  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
  • Thoughts of death or suicide

Signs and symptoms of a mixed episode

A mixed episode of bipolar disorder features symptoms of both mania or hypomania and depression. Common signs of a mixed episode include depression combined with agitation, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, distractibility, and racing thoughts. This combination of high energy and low mood makes for a particularly high risk of suicide.

The different faces of bipolar disorder

  • Bipolar I Disorder (mania or a mixed episode) The classic manic-depressive form of the illness, characterized by at least one manic episode or mixed episode. Usually—but not always—Bipolar I Disorder also involves at least one episode of depression.
  • Bipolar II Disorder (hypomania and depression) In Bipolar II disorder, the person doesn’t experience full-blown manic episodes. Instead, the illness involves episodes of hypomania and severe depression.
  • Cyclothymia (hypomania and mild depression) Cyclothymia is a milder form of bipolar disorder. It consists of cyclical mood swings. However, the symptoms are less severe than full-blown mania or depression.

Treatment for bipolar disorder

If you spot the symptoms of bipolar depression in yourself or someone else, don’t wait to get help. Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away; in fact, it will almost certainly get worse. Living with untreated bipolar disorder can lead to problems in everything from your career to your relationships to your health. Diagnosing the problem as early as possible and getting into treatment can help prevent these complications.

If you’re reluctant to seek treatment because you like the way you feel when you’re manic, remember that the energy and euphoria come with a price. Mania and hypomania often turn destructive, hurting you and the people around you.

Basics of bipolar disorder treatment

  • Bipolar disorder requires long-term treatment. Since bipolar disorder is a chronic, relapsing illness, it’s important to continue treatment even when you’re feeling better. Most people with bipolar disorder need medication to prevent new episodes and stay symptom-free.
  • There is more to treatment than medication. Medication alone is usually not enough to fully control the symptoms of bipolar disorder. The most effective treatment strategy for bipolar disorder involves a combination of medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, and social support.
  • It’s best to work with an experienced psychiatrist. Bipolar disorder is a complex condition. Diagnosis can be tricky and treatment is often difficult. For safety reasons, medication should be closely monitored. A psychiatrist who is skilled in bipolar disorder treatment can help you navigate these twists and turns.

Learn more about treatmentLearn more about treatment

Treatment for bipolar disorder is about more than the relief of symptoms. The true goal of treatment is recovery – getting to the point where bipolar disorder no longer disrupts your life. The right treatment plan can help you reach this goal.

Bipolar disorder and suicide

The depressive phase of bipolar disorder is often very severe, and suicide is a major risk factor. In fact, people suffering from bipolar disorder are more likely to attempt suicide than those suffering from regular depression. Furthermore, their suicide attempts tend to be more lethal.

The risk of suicide is even higher in people with bipolar disorder who have frequent depressive episodes, mixed episodes, a history of alcohol or drug abuse, a family history of suicide, or an early onset of the disease.

The warning signs of suicide include:

  • Talking about death, self-harm, or suicide
  • Feeling hopeless or helpless
  • Feeling worthless or like a burden to others
  • Acting recklessly, as if one has a “death wish”
  • Putting affairs in order or saying goodbye
  • Seeking out weapons or pills that could be used to commit suicide

Important

It’s very important to take any thoughts or talk of suicide seriously. If you or someone you care about is suicidal, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. IN A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.

Bipolar disorder causes and triggers

Bipolar disorder has no single cause. It appears that certain people are genetically predisposed to bipolar disorder. Yet not everyone with an inherited vulnerability develops the illness, indicating that genes are not the only cause. Some brain imaging studies show physical changes in the brains of people with bipolar disorder. Other research points to neurotransmitter imbalances, abnormal thyroid function, circadian rhythm disturbances, and high levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

External environmental and psychological factors are also believed to be involved in the development of bipolar disorder. These external factors are called triggers. Triggers can set off new episodes of mania or depression or make existing symptoms worse. However, many bipolar disorder episodes occur without an obvious trigger.

  • Stress – Stressful life events can trigger bipolar disorder in someone with a genetic vulnerability. These events tend to involve drastic or sudden changes–either good or bad–such as getting married, going away to college, losing a loved one, getting fired, or moving.
  • Substance Abuse – While substance abuse doesn’t cause bipolar disorder, it can bring on an episode and worsen the course of the disease. Drugs such as cocaine, ecstasy, and amphetamines can trigger mania, while alcohol and tranquilizers can trigger depression.
  • Medication – Certain medications, most notably antidepressant drugs, can trigger mania. Other drugs that can cause mania include over-the-counter cold medicine, appetite suppressants, caffeine, corticosteroids, and thyroid medication.
  • Seasonal Changes – Episodes of mania and depression often follow a seasonal pattern. Manic episodes are more common during the summer, and depressive episodes more common during the fall, winter, and spring.
  • Sleep Deprivation – Loss of sleep—even as little as skipping a few hours of rest—can trigger an episode of mania.

We are now embarking on a journey of understanding the sound and voice of the Lord. We must take into consideration not just some, but all things in the aspect to embracing the Kingdom. Not only embracing the Kingdom but responding to the call of the Kingdom, for the Kingdom has pronounced and has continously been proclaiming the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must tune our ears into the realm of the Spirit by way of understanding the signs and discern the climate change. In this will teach us how to pray; the change in climate brings a understanding of strategy for what is to come. Hear the voice of the Lord.

Signs That He Wont Marry You

So you’ve been dating him a while now huh?

Seems like he wont comitt huh?

Cant figure out whats his priorities?

Left with questions in your mind and you try to pretend that you have the answers but your still not 100% sure… well let me help you out.  Im no Dr.Phil. But i am Dr. Mike…

You have been dating this guy for sometime and things look pretty positive. However, he tends to evade any question about the big “M”. You are dying to get a long term commitment and he just doesn’t seem to be ready for it. How do you find out whether your man is ready to spend the rest of his life with you or is he just fooling around? Look out for signs that tell you that he won’t marry you.

Signs he won’t marry you
Aversion to marriage: If he is the kind of guy who doesn’t like the concept of marriage, drop him like a hot potato. In case he openly accepts his discomfort at the thought of marriage, chances are he won’t marry you.
Divorced men: I know divorced men are very tempting! We believe that they have already been taught about the relationship concepts and we don’t have to break our heads in doing so. However, divorced men find it difficult to commit again. Be careful while dealing with divorced men. You might be a rebound relationship for him. Or worse, he might be in a relationship for all the wrong reasons.
Unemployed: In these times of recession, if your guy is employment-challenged, don’t harbor hopes that he might take the big plunge. Most of the men don’t want to marry till they have secured jobs. In such a scenario, have patience till he gets a steady source of income.
Ambition: Nothing can come between a man and his ambition. If your man is an ambitious fellow and has high goals to achieve, forget about the marriage till he attains them. Career and aspirations are very important to young men.
High sexual drive: Men with high libido seldom settle for one woman easily. In case your boyfriend is just interested in the sex part of your relationship, avoid him like plague.
No communication: Men who do not want to marry are not open to communication with the woman in question.
Doesn’t put effort: The moment a man starts putting effort to improve the relationship, realize that he wants a serious relationship with you. Is your man not trying to take the relationship to next level? Sorry girl, he is just not that into you!

I need your feed back where it counts the most!!! Right below in the comment section… please hit me up and give me your comments and feed back.  Thank you so much.

Please take out sometime to watch The Michael London Show on youtube where we will deal with this topic and many others to come. Cant wait to hear your feed back. www.youtube.com/themichaellondonshow

Rude people at work can make life miserable for anyone. It greatly affects us psychologically and brings down our productivity. However, you have to work with difficult people and tolerate them for your career. There’s no escaping because you will find annoying co-workers wherever you go. So, the best course of action would be to know how to treat rude people at work.

How to treat rude people at work?
Ignore: The best way to treat rude people at work is to simply ignore them. We know it’s easier said than done. Just don’t respond to their snide comments or remarks. Anyways, why should the opinions of rude people bother you?
Win them with politeness: Follow the Christian doctrine of turning the other cheek. An eye for an eye will surely make the whole world go blind. Rude people might be impolite to you. However, don’t stoop to their level. Be friendly at the same time, don’t let such toxic co workers walk all over you.
Be assertive: In case your colleagues are really testing your patience, tell them assertively to refrain themselves from doing so. Be assertive not aggressive.
Smile: Don’t forget to take action with a smile. A smile will do wonders to deal with difficult people at work. Try to explain the condition with a million dollar smile. It works like magic.
Tell the boss: Keep your superiors informed about the situation. Don’t make it sound like a complaint. Tell the boss that actions of your difficult co workers is affecting you and your work.
Act mature: Be a true professional and don’t let a nasty colleague ruin your performance. You don’t want to become like him, do you?
Don’t get upset: Understand that the main aim of rude behavior of your co worker is to disturb you. So, don’t get upset or disturbed by the condescending attitude.

Go ahead and treat rude people at work with grace and tact.
